Dr. Anna Zeiter is adjunct lecturer for European Data Protection Law. She studied in Osnabrück and Florence and obtained a doctorate in the field of media law at the University of Hamburg. Afterwards, she practiced law in Hamburg for several years. At Stanford Law School, she received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law, Science & Technology with a focus on data protection, e-commerce, IT and IP Law. She is also a Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). Her full-time position is Chief Privacy Officer at eBay Inc.
Each fall semester, Dr. Zeiter teaches a class on "European Data Protection Law" in English. The lecture covers the basics of European data protection law with a focus on the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Apart from the basic legal principles, students will learn what European data protection law means for companies and how to deal with questions that arise in practice, using concrete examples.
